Back in November 2015, Chancellor Carmen Fariña of the New York City Department of Education announced a wonderful new literacy program called NYC Reads 365. It encourages daily reading, in and out of school, to give kids their best chance at success. Now that my blog is up and running, I wanted to be sure to share this good news with you.
As part of this initiative, city schools received PreK to 12th-grade book lists. And what a thrill it was for me to find my early reader Robot, Go Bot! on the kindergarten list!
The lists are packed with many fabulous books for readers of all levels and interests. So, even if you are not a New Yorker, check out the NYC Reads 365 lists and then check out some amazing books from your local library!
